Vogue fall picks

New Vogues! Yay!

I like this release. A few patterns I'm eyeing:

V1563, Rachel Comey jacket. This is so way, way out of my league, but I love the sleeve insets and the mix of fabrics.


V9267. Really hard to see it in this fabric, but I seriously love the lines.


Best short-person dress ever!


V9272, Marcy Tilton top with godets. Can I have it in that exact color?

And finally, this Vogue Wardrobe was a surprise:


I saw this on the front and thought, "oh, standard Vogue Wardrobe businesswear." But no, it's activewear. I like the sweatshirt:


So I think those...maybe? I don't know, I probably won't have time work on them! Until I stop commuting, it's all hand-sweing on the train for now.

    I was a bit disappointed this time round. I do like the Rachel Comey styles though. Also the Lialia coat although I'm sure I have Burdas that are very similar. I hadn't spotted that the wardrobe pattern is activewear! Interesting that they're doing something a bit different.

      I know, I was kind of excited about that! I like the Comeys too.

      What do you think of the Guy Laroche? I like it, just wish it weren't off the shoulder.

I made a dress! With the new sewing machine! Wheee! And not to bury the lede, but: We went to Japan for two weeks, and I completely fell in love with the clothing—especially Nani IRO and their amazing fabrics. I'm hooked. completed: Alabama Chanin fitted dress

Yeah, I can't believe I'm saying that either! It's going to be a long post, so here we go. see my vest

One of my New Year's resolutions (and yes, it's already the end of February, I know, I know) was to try to make practical and interesting office clothes. By "interesting," I mean clothes that don't make me want to stab my eyes out with a rusty fork. Because if I have to wear one more pair of polyester black pants and black cardigan... Anyway. I saw this on the cover of Drape Drape 2: I wish the Drape Drape models would wear pants occasionally. and went HOLY PRACTICAL THING, BATMAN. A vest/scarf combo (it's cold here) with deep pockets, to throw over office dresses? HELL YES. (I somehow keep buying office dresses that don't have any pockets. Which is a problem, when you have to clip a keycard somewhere because you're running up and down stairs delivering stuff to clients. I'm just saying.)
